Keith E. Edwards, PhD

Over the past eleven years Keith has been speaking on college campuses nationally on engaging college men in sexual assault prevention, social justice education, ally development, leadership, sustainability, and college men's development. He has spoken and consulted at more than 50 colleges and universities. Keith has presented more than 60 programs at national conferences and has written more than 15 articles on these issues. His research, writing, and speaking has received national awards and recognition

Keith received his B. A. degree in Social Studies along with an education minor and teaching license from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. He also earned his M. S. degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University. Keith received his PhD from the College Student Personnel Administration program at the University of Maryland, where he completed his dissertation "Putting my man face on": A grounded theory of college men's gender identity development, which was recognized as Dissertation of the Year by ACPA - College Student Educators International in 2007. His scholarship interests include diversity and social justice education and college men's issues from a feminist and social justice perspective.

Keith is a national leader in social justice education having founded and served as Chair for ACPA's Commission for Social Justice Educators. He is a national leader on sustainability in higher education, focusing on the integration of healthy environments, social justice, and strong economies. He is currently the Director of Campus Life at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN where he provides leadership for the areas of residential life, campus activities, new student orientation, and campus conduct. He is also an affiliate faculty member in the Leadership in Student Affairs program at the University of St. Thomas, where he teaches graduate courses on diversity and social justice in higher education. He has worked in Greek Life, Residence Life, and Academic Affairs in addition to teaching high school, undergraduate, and graduate courses in diversity and social justice.
